Jerry Seinfeld Offers Some of the Worst Writing Advice You’ve Ever Seen
Strangely, the opposite of his advice works wonders

Seinfeld was my drug of choice as a 90s kid to silence the pain.
Watching Jerry Seinfeld and the cast tell odd stories was addictive. They always seemed to get into the craziest situations. Jerry popped up in my newsfeed recently when he publicly argued James Altucher’s description of the future of New York was wrong. I was fanboying with James after he followed me on Twitter (a rare treat).
People took Jerry way too seriously. I reckon Jerry actually wrote a piece of comedy about James’ view of New York. Nonetheless, both pieces divided residents of New York and lovers of the great city.
Jerry published a book recently called “Is This Anything?” I was ecstatic. Not to read the book but because I knew it meant Jerry would be doing lots of interviews and I could learn something from him about writing.
As an up and coming writer, I wanted to know how Jerry kept his act so fresh, and to understand more about why he terminated his famous TV show after only nine years. I put my headphones on and listened to an interview he did.
